The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is the regulator for the construction industry in South Africa. If you want to do construction work valued over R200,000, you must be registered with the CIDB.

- Company registration certificate (CIPC)
- Certified ID copies of all directors

- COIDA Letter of Good Standing
- B-BBEE certificate or affidavit

- Latest annual financial statements
- Bank confirmation letter
- Proof of turnover (for higher grades)
Technical Documents
- CV of principal and key technical staff
- Proof of qualifications
- Project completion certificates
- References from previous clients

How to Apply
- Go to **www.cidb.org.za**
- Create an account on the i-Tender portal
- Complete the application form
- Upload all required documents
- Pay the registration fee
- Wait for assessment (4-6 weeks)
Common Reasons for Rejection
- **Incomplete documents** - missing pages or signatures
- **Expired certificates** - tax clearance, COIDA, etc.
- **Incorrect category** - applying for wrong work type
- **Financial doesn't match grade** - turnover too low
